Sustainability strategy

The FGK sustainability strategy consists of 3 components

1. Climate neutrality (Scope 1+2 by 2030)
2. Circular economy (recycling, resource conservation, take-back)
3. REACh (SVHC substitution)

FGK members are committed to the following

1. REAch

• Creating the conditions for a complete switch to trivalent chrome plating by 2025
• Conversion to Cr(VI)-free pretreatment in the period from 2022 to 2031

2. circular economy

• Proof of the technological suitability of re-granulates and bio-based plastics for electroplating
• Obligation to take back supplied components and feed them into recycling processes from 2023

3. climate neutrality

• The German sites of FGK members will become climate-neutral by 2030 in accordance with Scope 1+2
• By the beginning of Q3/2022, the FGK members will prepare carbon footprints for their German sites in accordance with Scope 1+2 for the base year 2019 and the years 2020 and 2021
• This balance sheet is updated annually
• The FGK members provide the balance sheet data to the association for the preparation of a total balance sheet and for monitoring the development
